Abstract

We report a 67-year-old Korean female who presented with painless sudden onset vision loss with fever, chills and general weakness. Clinical manifestations, fundus examination, visual field testing, elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein level, and optical coherence tomography angiography demonstrated arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy. The histopathology findings of right temporal artery were consistent with temporal arteritis. After systemic steroid treatment, visual acuity and visual field were preserved without further deterioration.
